Searching Trials
Find trials with saved queries, every filter and its options, column control, deep search, and following.
The Search page
Search is where you discover trials and add them to your portfolio. You start from a saved query, then refine the results with filters until you have the set you want.
Start from a query
Every search begins with a query — a reusable set of criteria.

Pick a query
Choose one from the query selector to load matching trials into the results area.

Create or edit a query if needed
If no existing query fits, build one in the Query Editor (see Building Queries) and come back.
Work with results
Results appear as a sortable table on desktop and as cards on smaller screens.
- Sort by any column by clicking its header.
- Open the column manager to show or hide columns and reset to defaults (see Table & Custom Fields).
- Page through large result sets, or switch between table and card layouts.
Filters and their options
Narrow results without changing the underlying query. Filter dropdowns list the values actually present in your current results, so you only ever pick options that match something.

| Study Type | Interventional, Observational, Expanded Access. |
| Lead Sponsor | Every sponsor name present in your current results. |
| Source Query | Which saved query found each trial ("Manual" for trials you added by hand). |
| Enrollment | A numeric range filter (minimum / maximum participants). |
| Condition / Disease, Facility, Country, Region | Filter by the values present in your results. |
| Age group | Child (birth–17), Adult (18–64), Older Adult (65+). |
| Date fields + range | Filter on a chosen date field (last updated, start, completion) with a from/to range. |
| Unfollowed only | Hide trials already in your portfolio so you can focus on new ones. |
Follow and unfollow
Following adds a trial to your Follow-Up portfolio; unfollowing removes it.

Follow individually
Use the Follow button or checkbox on any result.

Follow in bulk
Select multiple trials and follow them all at once. The same works for unfollowing.
Deep search
Quick search returns matches fast. When a query is broad or unusual and quick search comes back empty, you can run a deep search to scan the full catalog for matches.
- Deep search is opt-in — start it when you need a more exhaustive sweep.
- It shows progress as it runs and can be cancelled at any time.
- When it finishes, refresh the results to bring in everything it found.
